چکیده

We present analytical relations for the quantum evolution of the number difference of bosons between the two sites of a double-well potential, by using perturbative results for small tunneling amplitudes in the twomode approximation. Results are obtained for two different initial conditions: completely localized states and coherent spin states. In the former case both the short and the long time behavior is investigated and the characteristic Bohr frequencies of the energy spectrum are determined. In the latter case we calculate the short time-scale evolution of the number difference. The analytical expressions compare favorably with direct numerical solutions of the quantum problem. Finally, we discuss the corresponding Gross-Pitaevskii ~i.e., mean-field! dynamics and we point out the differences between the full quantum evolution and the mean-field evolution.

High-resolution IR studies of hydrogen bonded clusters: large amplitude dynamics in (HCl)n.

Structural and dynamical information on small hydrogen-bonded systems is revealed by high-resolution IR spectroscopy of HCl dimer, trimer and tetramer. In (HCl)2, four combination bands tentatively assigned to the Van der Waals stretch nu 4 and geared band nu 5 vibrations are observed. The study focuses on two unexpected results: (i) all of the observed bands are built only on the bound HCl str...

Supercurrent States in 1d Finite-size Rings

We consider topological supercurrent excitations (SC) in 1D mesoscopic rings. Under certain conditions such excitations are well-defined except for (i) a tunneling between resonating states with clockwise and anti-clockwise currents, which may be characterized by the amplitude ∆, and (ii) a decay of SC assisted by phonons of the substrate, both effects being macroscopically small. Our approach ...

Mott Transition in Lattice Boson Models

Initially introduced in 1989 [9], the Bose-Hubbard model has been the object of much recent work. It represents a simple lattice model of itinerant bosons which interact locally. This model turns out to describe fairly well recent experiments with bosonic atoms in optical lattices [12, 15]. Its low-temperature phase diagram has been uncovered in several studies, both analytical (see e.g. [9, 10...

دینامیک سالیتون‌های مدل 6 φ در یک پتانسیل خارجی

In this paper, we study particle aspects of the φ6 kinks in an external potential. The external potential is implemented by breaking the translational invariance of the system. The dynamics of the kink is calculated for the simple harmonic oscillator (SHO) and barrier potentials. The periodic motion of the kink in the SHO case is compared to the corresponding ordinary (classical) motion. It i...

Evolution of the dynamical pairing across the phase diagram of a strongly correlated high-temperature superconductor.

We study the dynamics of the Cooper pairing across the T = 0 phase diagram of the two-dimensional Hubbard model, relevant for high-temperature superconductors, using a cluster extension of dynamical mean-field theory. We find that the superconducting pairing function evolves from an unconventional form in the overdoped region into a more conventional boson-mediated retarded form in the underdop...
